Jan and Hayel Sweis have been creating memorable meals for family and friends for over 20 years. Their shared passion for bringing people and good food together has evolved into a unique concept in catering; JH Sweis is a personalized caterer, a one-of-a-kind full service venue for celebrations and special events and a one-stop shop for hot delicious meals to go.

Hayel is a third-generation butcher with over forty five years of experience in fresh meat and poultry retailing, purchasing and merchandising. He was raised in an ancient Christian town called Fuheis, near Amman, Jordan where eating meals together with family and friends and Jordan's famous tradition of hospitality were cornerstones of his upbringing.

Jan has been involved with various aspects of the food industry over the last 30 years. The idea for preparing fresh, homemade meals for large groups came while doing volunteer work at St. Mary School of Mokena. While there, Jan identified an opportunity to provide students and faculty with more nutritious daily lunch options.

This led to the development of Hot Meals, Inc., the first Catholic school lunch program in the area to cater homemade food to students and staff on a daily basis. A focus on using high-quality ingredients and providing children, faculty and parents with healthy, delicious food choices is what sets the program apart from typical school cafeterias.

As the success of Hot Meals Inc. was established, Jan and Hayel began catering large social events at St. Mary's School and Church. A common question at many staff/volunteer appreciation dinners and Grandparent's Day breakfasts has been, "When are you going to open a catering business?" As they enter the empty nest phase of life they are excited to answer that question with the startup of JH Sweis Catering.
